In a perfect world (we wish, am I right?), save the dates and invites are sent out far in advance so that guests have more than enough time to block our their calendars and maybe even buy a plane ticket to attend! Time is also needed for us to create amazing pieces, and in the quantity requested. Please keep this in consideration when planning out your timelines.

Save the dates: typically, they are sent out 6-9 months before the wedding

Wedding invitations: they are usually sent out 6-8 weeks prior to the wedding

The entire suite takes about 3-4 months to be completely designed from start to finish but please contact us if time is an issue for you.

Reception pieces (menu, escort cards, signages) are created 1 month prior to wedding dates

(1) Reaching out

We recommend that brides contact us within 6-7 months before the wedding date to provide with ample time to design and work on the design of the suite. Please indicate what category of paper goods you are interested in (main invite, rsvp, day of, etc.)

(2) Initial Brainstorming

We’ll provide you with a questionnaire with all questions that relate back to your wedding and your dream suite. We will discuss your calligraphic needs, paper goods, printing options, and the general direction you’ll be heading in. At the end of it, we’ll send you a total price quote.

(3) Confirmation

Once you’ve set your mind on us, we will send you a contract and 30% of the approximate quote will be needed to officially book Little Things Calligraphy’s availability. Work will not progress if the deposit is not sent.

(4) Complete Brainstorming

Here’s the fun part! We’ll review your favorite Pinterest boards, ideas, thoughts, and magazine cutouts and give you a call or email about what we think will go well with your style. This is where you can give us a more concrete idea about what you’re looking for. You will also be given Google documents to fill out for envelope addressing, and invitation wordings. (5) Proofing

Just like baking, this time of the design process is most important, and takes the most time. After the complete brainstorm, we will send you 3 sketch concepts up of what the invites and other categories will look like within 1 week. After the finalized proofing for the designs and confirmed invitation wordings, we will start painting the details and putting together your beautiful suite so that you can have a feel of what the whole thing will look like. THIS IS WHERE THE THREE PROOFINGS HAPPEN

(6) The Suite

Once the final confirmation has been given from you, I will order the papers and envelopes. The rest of suite is then printed and cut to size!

(7) The Envelopes

After your final proof in step 5, addresses are set and the way that they are addressed is also set. Changes now will result in extra charges. Envelopes are the wrapping for your dreamy invitation, and it is imperative that it looks amazing – which is why it will take some time to complete! We usually take approximately 10 days to complete 100 envelopes.

(8) Shipped Off to You!

With the envelopes done, we’ll package everything up, slap on a label and have it shipped to you!
